Garden Consultancy
I believe and live a natural and sustainable horticultural process in all elements of any garden project. This may include diagnosing plant health issues and organic solutions, location and aspect, pest control, nutritional deficiency, soil testing, maintenance schedules and design requirements.
I take a healthy soil, healthy garden approach and often advise on soil improvements and ecological requirements including plant identification and economic weed evaluation and control.
Consultation:
$165 incl. GST
A 60 minute site visit and discussion with a page of complimentary notes.
Ideally suited to people who need advice on a specific plant, group of plants, cultivation, or other horticultural techniques and products or very general overall garden advice.
Consultation and Report:
$660 incl. GST
A 60-90 minute site visit and comprehensive site report, schedule, plant list with cultural notes, and landscape directives.
Ideally suited to people who need advice on managing or refurbishing a large garden or landscape project and need detailed advice on garden management, installation, and plant culture.
Garden Design
We will discuss your garden experiences, expectations and find a style that suits you best. From there, I will happily design, install and encourage your garden to rise up out of the Earth and mature gracefully.
I design gardens with the fundamental belief that we should delight and participate in useful living spaces for year-round enjoyment and productivity. As such, I only source and recommend plants and care routines to allow your garden to thrive in Brisbane’s subtropical climate.
Design Consultation:
$330 incl. GST
A 60 minute site visit and discussion with a garden sketch and plant listing.
Ideally suited to people who need a visual representation of what to plant where and a plant list to follow.
Scale Design Drawing:
From $1100 incl. GST
A garden design package with a preliminary meeting, style guide, rough drafting, and scale design drawing with plant key.
Ideally suited to people who need a larger scale design brief with a more detailed working plan with a possible view to subsequent installation.
Garden Maintenance
Scheduled garden maintenance programs ensure your garden will thrive beautifully year round. I focus on building the soil using organic methods and applied sciences to help your plants to flourish. The soil will always be a focus as I train your garden to handle periods of drought. A regime of plant nutrition will keep your plants in seasonal abundance.
A garden is not a product, it is a process! With a rich knowledge of Classic Horticultural methods, I ensure that your garden will mature gracefully and afford you plenty of opportunities to enjoy your green spaces.
Scheduled Garden Maintenance:
$88/hr incl. GST, green waste removal, and components extra.
Specialised garden care, scheduled maintenance, and garden refurbishment.
Ideally suited to people who are prepared to outsource ongoing premium-level garden maintenance and garden refurbishment or installation projects.
Speciality: Rose Gardens
Roses are a Mountain Man speciality. As a third-generation rose grower, I only source superior-quality stock and provide installation, maintenance or guidance with a tailored consultation.
Your rose garden will be designed, installed and maintained professionally. We can adapt and work from an integrated pest management plan, provide Rose nutrition for plentiful quality blooms, we can supply expert seasonal and remedial pruning of any number of Rose shrubs.
ROSE MASTERCLASSES
We also hold yearly Rose Masterclasses. Here you can learn how to plant, grow and care for Roses from selection through to enjoyment of your abundant blooms. You will get hands-on knowledge as we invite you to gain valuable experience planting and pruning. All the seasonal requirements for your plants will be discussed along with advice for managing pests and disease. As well as all the tools and products of the trade.
